HELLO, I'M RACHEL
Hi! I’m Rachel, a Yoga, Pilates and Fitness Instructor based in Dorset. After pursuing my Yoga and Wellness journey in whilst living Vancouver Canada. After 3 amazing years, in 2021 I returned home to the U.K. In my hometown of Poole, I’m am here to serve you creative, exciting and powerful content!
From an early age I loved being active and participating in any sports offered to me. At the age of 9 my main focus in sport became Karate whereby I then achieved Black Belt at the age of 13. My training provided me with focus, discipline and created a drive to do well and this continues to resonate with me today.
Yoga introduced itself to me at my local gym whereby I met a great teacher and instantly sought enjoyment from the challenge it gave my body and how relaxed my mind felt as I left the room.
In January 2018 my husband and I decided to head on a little adventure and moved to Vancouver, Canada. Upon my arrival, it felt like the perfect opportunity to sign up to a 200 Hour yoga teaching programme . I completely immersed myself into the yoga world whilst training and knew that as soon as I completed my course I immediately wanted to teach. With a passion for movement and people, I felt that by becoming a teacher I could help others in finding a safe place to practice and to assist them on their own yoga journey.
I found that typically in the western world we tend to concentrate on mainly the physical components of yoga and fitness and whilst this is something I love, the pandemic especially taught us that taking care of ourselves and learning to become more mindful and understanding the powers we possess can have a huge impact on living a long and healthy balanced life. In December 2019, I completed my 25 Hour Yoga Nidra training.
As well as my love for Yoga I have a huge passion for physical fitness! Post training I embarked on a fitness fusion journey which allowed me to teach group fitness classes of different styles including HIIT, Strength and Barre followed by Pilates!
I am hugely passionate about the practice of Pilates understanding the way our bodies work, and how we can create stronger, more mobile and flexible bodies. Through stimulation of the body and of the mind, I believe we are able to gain both physical and mental strength leading us to feelings of gratitude, compassion and self-love. These are all key elements which link a healthy lifestyle to a healthy body and mind relationship.
Since returning to the UK, I have ran 6 successful retreats incorporating all of my offerings and have invited wonderful guests to join me along the way.
Most recently I have qualified with 85 hours in Pregnancy and Post Natal Yoga training.
